Breaking news... Tuesday, October 18, 2011...Update on Little Heart... The charges were dropped from felony to misdemenor....

Jan. 27, 2012 - VIA: Little Heart Animal Abuse Awareness for Kids:

The court followed through, as expected, and the mandated outcome
is as follows: supervised probation, a mentoring program, therapy and a
suspended 30 day sentence in juvenile detention.

And so it ends. As with every other successfully prosecuted case, there
remains a letdown even thought justice has been served. The one
positive that could possibly come from this case would be if the residents
of Virginia and their representatives decided that the life of a stray or
abandoned, animal should have equal value with those who have homes
and human families.

This sweet little boy, named Little Heart by
animal advocates, died from his injuries after
being brutally beaten by a 12 year old
boy.

A 9 year old boy, intervened and saved the
kitten from being stabbed to death
by disarming the older boy.
The 9 year old took the kitten to safety,
away from the abuser.

Suffolk Animal Control tried to save the kitten's
life, but he experienced difficulty breathing a few
days after the assault and died while at the emergency
vet.

Rest in peace, Little Heart. We will continue to
fight animal abusers and bullies in your memory.

THANK YOU SUFFOLK HUMANE SOCIETY
FOR TAKING SUCH GOOD CARE OF LITTLE HEART!
